I got my start in comedy when I was asked by BAFTA-winning producer Sophie Francis (In My Skin) to develop a pilot for a comedy series based on a short film I made as a university project. I leapt at the opportunity, and within a week had produced a first draft of a 30-page script. This was received enthusiastically by Libby Durdy, Sophie’s executive producer at Duck Soup Films (Lost Boys and Fairies), and led to me entering into a shopping agreement with Duck Soup, writing drafts of several further episodes, and having my work pitched to the BBC and Channel 4. They also considered another screenplay of mine for submission to the BBC Comedy Short Film Fund.
I currently offer comedy writing services for screenplays, stand-up sets, live shows and other forms. If you are interested in working with me, please email info@peterleonbrookes.co.uk for a free consultation and a quote.
